LOCATION: The 2012 Avenues Street Fair will be held on 9th Avenue between B and G Streets in the Avenues area of Salt Lake City.

We are partnering this year with Intermountain Healthcare / LDS Hospital, who will be holding a community health fair on the same day, and who will be presenting the grand re-opening of the newly renovated LDS Hospital main entrance and foyer.

HISTORY OF THE FAIR: Did you know? The Avenues Street Fair began in the 1970's as a remodeling tool exchange. It expanded into a home tour event to see everyone's handiwork with the borrowed tools, and eventually became a true street fair and one of Utah’s premier community celebrations. An estimated 10,000 people attend each year. We hope to see you at this year's Fair on September 8!

COMMITTEE CO-CHAIRS: Jan Bird and Connie Senior are the 2012 Avenues Street Fair Committee co-chairs. Email either of them at Connie can be reached at 720-273-2024 and Jan can be reached at 801-390-8531.

Here are some of the winners at the 2011 People's Art Gallery:

FEATURED ARTIST: Each year the Street Fair Committee selects a local artist to create an original theme image of the Fair. The resulting image is the Featured Artist's interpretation of what "The Avenues" means to them. The theme image is then used to create all of our print ads, banners, event poster and t-shirts, and other publicity materials.

The artist is given a complimentary booth at the Fair to display their theme image and their other artwork for sale.

We are pleased to announce that local artist Darin Jones has been selected as the 2012 Avenues Street Fair Featured Artist. His web page is here: Darin Jones' Portfolio.

Darin's creation for the 2012 Avenues Street Fair is shown below.

Thank you to all the artists who submitted their work for consideration.
