Salt Lake City will not collect the brown compost bins between January 24th and March 4th. This will save fuel costs and reduce emissions. The City will resume emptying the brown yard waste bins the week of March 7, 2022 – weather permitting.

The SLC Green Team reminds us that Christmas trees can be composted. The preferred option is to cut the tree into pieces and place in the brown compost can. Or the whole tree can be placed on the curb for collection between January 4-21.
