Our Neighborhood
The Greater Avenues Community Council is one of the larger community councils in Salt Lake City. The GACC includes the historic lower Avenues, Federal Heights, Arlington Hills and the upper Avenues. In addition to many old, single-family homes, there are high rise apartments near downtown and many smaller apartment buildings interspersed throughout. There is the large LDS Hospital on the west side of the Avenues and the Shriner's Children's Hospital on the east side. There is a large supermarket and many smaller businesses and restaurants. Overall, the GACC area includes almost 9000 addresses of individual residences and business.
